Meeting The Director – General

A delegation of children from the Upper Third and Lower Fourth Forms (Years 4 and 5) were invited to the Pall Mall, London Headquarters of the Institute of Directors to meet and interview Jonathan Geldart, the IOD’s Director-General.  Founded in 1906 by Royal Charter, the IOD represents the UK’s senior business leaders. 78% of the Financial Times Top 100 companies are members, although IOD members come from across the business spectrum. The DG talked to the children about Entrepreneurs and Business and told them about the IOD’s role in representing the views of business to the media and national government. The children then had the chance to quiz the Director-General, asking him about business taxes, leaving the EU, the role of directors, and the part business can play in the climate change debate.
